27 year old Brad Hawpe had a solid season in his first year as a full-time starter for the Rockies in 2006. He played in 150 games and he hit .293 with 67 runs scored, 22 homers, 84 RBIs and a .898 OPS. He played well defensively in 145 games in RF as he only made 4 errors while showing above average range. Look for Hawpe to have another good season for the Rockies in 2007.
Jeff Baker will be Hawpe’s back up in RF. He will likely get some starts against lefthanded pitching for the Rockies in RF. He played 10 error-less games in RF last season but he didn’t show much range there.
