The Colorado Rockies are getting nothing from their catchers
I wonder if the Rockies are going to give Javy Lopez a call to see if he stayed in shape because their catchers have been pathetic with a bat in their hands so far this season. The Rockies had high hopes for rookie Chris Iannetta and he’s been awful so far this season. In 31 games this year, he is 16 for 87 (.184 avg, .628 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 1 homer and 10 RBIs. He also has whiffed an amazing 29 times already as he’s often looked overmatched at the plate. Yorvit Torrealba hasn’t been a whole lot better this season. In 35 games, he’s 26 for 121 (.215 avg, .553 OPS) with 6 runs scored, 1 homer and 17 RBIs. Look for the Rockies to make a move soon if neither of these guys pick it up with their bats.
