The Colorado Rockies place Jason Hirsch on the DL

The Rockies have place Jason Hirsch on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle.  He has started 17 games this season for the Rockies and he’s 4-7 with a 4.90 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP.  Hirsch has thrown 101 innings this season and he has allowed 94 hits, walked 42 batters and whiffed 66.  The Rockies have recalled Matt Herges to take Hirsch’s spot on the roster.  Herges has pitched in 2 games this season for the Rockies and he is 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA and a 2.67 WHIP.  In 3 innings this season he has allowed 5 hits, walked 3 batters and whiffed 4.
