Colorado Rockies 5, Arizona Diamondbacks 1
The Rockies just kept rolling along last night as they won their 18th game in the last 19. The win was also the 9th straight on the road for the Rockies. Kazuo Matsui had another solid game as he was 1 for 5 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base. Brad Hawpe blasted away on Brandon Webb again going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Jeff Francis had another outstanding start and he was the winning pitcher. He worked 6.2 innings and he allowed 7 hits, 1 earned run, walked 1 batter and whiffed 4. The Rockies then trotted out 4 relievers who worked the last 2.1 innings allowing 2 hits, 0 earned runs, walked 1 batter and whiffed 2. The Rockies lead the series 1-0 over the Diamondbacks.
Rockies are on a roll! I figure they were either never told what they are doing is statistically impossible or the lack of oxygen at their home altitude does not allow their brains to registar they are making history!
The Rockies have been simply amazing Mitch. They only need 4 more wins to be World Champs but the next team they play will be the best one they have played all season long. It will be a great World Series.
