Colorado Rockies 4, Arizona Diamondbacks 1
The Rockies prevailed in the rain Sunday Night to put them 1 win away from their first World Series trip. They did it with clutch hitting and solid pitching. Matt Holliday started things off in the first inning with a solo homer. He finished the game 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. But the hero of the game was Yorvit Torrealba who has been a driving force in the playoffs for the Rockies. He jacked a 3-run homer in the 6th inning off Livan Hernandez to give the Rockies all the runs they would need tonight. He was 2 for 4 with 1 run scored, 3 RBIs, a homer and a double.
Josh Fogg was the winning pitcher as he worked six outstanding innings. He pitched 6 innings and he allowed 7 hits, 1 earned run, walked 1 batter and whiffed 3. Jeremy Affeldt and Brian Fuentes followed with 2 shutout innings of relief to set up closer Manny Corpas. Corpas tossed a scoreless 9th inning to earn the save. The Rockies now have a commanding 3-0 lead in this series over the D-Backs.
