The Rockies never had a chance in this game because of the Red Sox barrage on offense. Jeff Francis was battered in his 4 innings on the mound as he allowed 10 hits, 6 earned runs, walked 3 batters and whiffed 3 batters. He was the losing pitcher. Franklin Morales followed Francis and he stunk it up. He worked 2/3 of an inning and he allowed 6 hits, 7 earned runs and walked a batter. Ryan Speier followed Morales and he was awful as he walked all three batters that he faced. Matt Herges, Jeremy Affeldt and LaTroy Hawkins combined to stop the bleeding working 3.1 innings and allowing 1 hit, walking 1 batter and whiffing 3.

The offense didn’t do much to help the Rockies cause either as they whiffed 12 times and only had 6 hits. Troy Tulowitzki came to play last night as he was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Todd Helton also shined in his first World Series game as he was 2 for 4 with a double. The rest of the Rockies were only 2 for 25! The Rockies are now down 1-0 to the Red Sox in this series.
