The Colorado Rockies have signed right handed starting pitcher Josh Towers to a 1-year, $1.8 million dollar contract. The 30-year old Towers was not good last season for the Blue Jays as he pitched in 25 games (15 starts) and he was 5-10 with a 5.38 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. Towers has now pitched in 137 games (112 starts) in his major league career and he is 45-55 with 1 save, a 4.96 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Towers doesn’t have the stuff to succeed pitching half of his games at Coors Field so it’s doubtful that his signing will wind up being a good move.
