Marcus Giles signs with the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies have signed second baseman Marcus Giles. Giles played in 116 games last season for the Padres and he was 96 for 420 (.229 avg, .621 OPS) with 52 runs scored, 4 homers, 39 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He has now played in 792 games in his major league career and he is 813 of 2,934 (.277 avg, .782 OPS) with 468 runs scored, 76 homers, 333 RBIs and 70 stolen bases. The Rockies are hoping that last season was a fluke and that Giles can get back to playing like he did for the Braves early in his career. If he produces like he did with the Braves signing him will prove to be a stroke of genius.
