The Rockies have acquired 27-year old lefty starter Jorge De La Rosa from the Royals for a player to be named later and cash. De La Rosa was off to a good start in AAA ball as he started 4 games and was 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. De La Rosa has now pitched in 97 games (41 starts) in his major league career and he is 15-23 with a 5.85 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP. De La Rosa will replace Franklin Morales who was sent to the minors. Morales started 5 games for the Rockies this season and he was 1-2 with a 6.39 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP. Morales walked 17 batters in only 25.1 innings and it hurt him badly.
