The Colorado Rockies claim Livan Hernandez off waivers from the Twins
The Rockies have claimed 33-year old righty starting pitcher Livan Hernandez off waivers from the Twins. He has started 23 games for the Twins this season and he was 10-8 with a 5.48 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP. Hernandez gave up 199 hits of which 18 were homers in only 139.2 innings this season so it will be interesting to see how his slow stuff works in Colorado. Hernandez has now pitched in 374 games (373 starts) in his major league career and he was 144-136 with a 4.32 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. The one thing that Hernandez will give the Rockies is a lot of innings which will help the bullpen. Whether or not they are good innings or not is another matter.
