The Rockies have re-signed 32-year old lefty reliever Joe Beimel to a minor league deal. Beimel pitched in 26 games (0 starts) for the Rockies last season in which he was 0-1 with a 4.02 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Overall with the Nationals & Rockies last season Beimel pitched in 71 games (0 starts) in which he was 1-6 with 1 save, a 3.58 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He has now pitched in 461 games (23 starts) in his major league career and he is 22-29 with 4 saves, a 4.23 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. This was a solid move for the Rockies and they hope Beimel will be ready to start the season in the pen despite getting a very late start to spring training.
