The Rockies have signed 33-year old righty reliever Rick Bauer to a minor league deal. Bauer pitched in 3 games (all starts) in independent ball last year and he was 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. He last pitched in the majors in 2008. Bauer has now pitched in 187 games (10 starts) in his major league career and he is 11-14 with 3 saves, a 4.51 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. Bauer will start the year in the minors and get a chance with the Rockies later this season if they think it’s warranted.
