29-year old lefty swinging 2B/SS Omar Quintanilla will miss the next 4-6 weeks due to arthroscopic surgery to his right elbow. Quintanilla has played in 34 games in AAA-ball this season for the Rockies and he was 30 of 119 (.252 avg, .669 OPS) with 14 runs scored, 1 homer, 15 RBIs and 1 stolen base. He was likely going to get called up when rosters expand on September 1st so this injury really hurts him.

UPDATE: (8/11/2010) – Quintanilla has been suspended for 50 games due to a failed PED test.
