The Rockies have placed 31-year old righty starting pitcher Aaron Cook on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right big toe. Cook has started 21 games for the Rockies this season and he is 4-8 with a 5.34 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. Cook has not pitched well at all this season for the Rockies as he has given up 137 hits and walked 47 batters in 116 1/3 innings this year. 22-year old righty Jhoulys Chacin has been recalled to replace Cook in the rotation. Chacin has pitched in 19 games (12 starts) for the Rockies earlier this year and he is 5-8 with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. This is a case where a injury will actually help the Rockies down the stretch as Chacin should easily outpitch Cook.
