I have to agree with you Ed. Hawpe deserves a little more respect than the Rockies have treated him with lately. He is the scapegoat for an offense that has not played well for the most part.

POORLY handled! Hawpe was a class kid and deserved so much better. If anyone believes Hawpe is the most underperforming of today's Rox, look at Clint Barmes, Chris Iannetta or Todd Helton!

Iannetta continues to struggle at the plate and behind it. Barmes refuses to learn to hit to right, choosing instead to try and pull outside pitches, resulting in pops to short right or double play balls. Helton has had a good run, but it's OVER!

The Rockies will struggle until Jim Tracy insists every position player learns how and executes bunts, and consistently hits behind runners. He must also cease trying to be every pitcher's mommy; when they're struggling, take them out, Jim, before the team is 5 runs down early in the game! You play aggressive, smart, fundamental baseball and that puts pressure on the OTHER team, Jim!

Tracy lost some 95 one run games in two years at Pittsburgh. Wonder why? Squeeze bunt. Double steal. Hit and run. Maybe when you learn basic baseball the cheesy front office won't be fouling up waivers as they did with Hawpe.
