The Colorado Rockies sign Kevin Millwood
The Rockies have signed 36-year old righty starting pitcher Kevin Millwood to a minor league deal. They are likely going to bring him up to the majors soon to replace Juan Nicasio in the starting rotation. Millwood has pitched in 16 games (all starts) in AA+AAA-ball with the Red Sox and Yankees this year and he is 7-2 with a 4.32 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. He has pitched in 414 games (406 starts) in his 14 years in the major leagues and he is 159-137 with a 4.11 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. It can’t hurt to give Millwood another shot at the show, which is likely exactly what the Rockies are going to do.
