The Colorado Rockies place Huston Street on the D.L.
The Rockies have placed 28-year old righty closer Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list due to a mild triceps strain. Street has pitched in 53 games (0 starts) for the Rockies so far this year and he is 1-3 with 29 saves, a 4.06 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. 36-year old righty Rafael Betancourt will function as the Rockies’ closer until Street returns to action. Betancourt has pitched in 53 games (0 starts) for the Rockies so far this year and he is 2-0 with 1 save, a 3.61 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. It will be interesting to see how Betancourt reacts to closing as he didn’t do too well in Cleveland when the Indians gave him a shot. The Rockies hope that Street will only miss a couple of weeks.
