The Rockies have placed 25-year old lefty swinging outfielder Charlie Blackmon on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26th due to turf toe. Blackmon played in 27 games for the Rockies last year and he was 25 of 98 (.255 avg, .573 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 1 homer, 8 RBIs and 5 stolen bases. He also played in 58 games in AAA-ball last year in which he was 82 of 243 (.337 avg, .965 OPS) with 49 runs scored, 10 homers, 49 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. The Rockies should be o.k. without Blackmon to start the 2012 season, but he might help them later on in the season when he gets healthy.
