The Colorado Rockies sign Jason Bergmann
The Rockies have signed 30-year old righty reliever/starter Jason Bergmann to a minor league deal. Bergmann pitched in 22 games (0 starts) this year for Camden of the Independent League and he was 0-0 with 1 save, a 0.81 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. He only gave up 11 hits while whiffing 33 batters in his first 22 1/3 innings this year, and that’s pretty impressive. Bergmann last pitched in the majors in 2010 for the Nationals. He has pitched in 155 games (50 starts) in his first six years in the majors and he is 12-24 with a 5.04 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP.
