Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies is done for the season

39-year old lefty swinging 1B Todd Helton is done for the season for the Colorado Rockies. He is having season ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip. Helton played in 69 games for the Rockies this year and he was 57 of 240 (.238 avg, .743 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 7 homers, 37 RBIs and 1 stolen base. He has now played in 2,123 games in his first 16 years with the Rockies and he is 2,420 of 7,565 (.320 avg, .964 OPS) with 1,360 runs scored, 354 homers, 1,345 RBIs and 37 stolen bases. Helton expects to be ready for spring training of 2013, which will be his final year under contract for the Rockies.
