The Rockies have lost 30-year old righty reliever Josh Roenicke on waivers to the Twins. Roenicke pitched in 63 games (0 starts) for the Rockies last year and he was 4-2 with 1 save, a 3.25 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. He pitched in 82 games (0 starts) in his two years with the Rockies and he was 4-2 with 1 save, a 3.33 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. I’m am more than a little surprised to see the Rockies let Roenicke go without getting anything for him as he was one of the best relievers on the team last year.

He has now pitched in 57 games (24 starts) in his first four years in the majors and he is 11-12 with a 4.16 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. This isn’t much of a loss for the Rockies based on the way Moscoso pitched for them last year.

The Rockies are loaded at shortstop, so they likely won’t miss Field too much down the road.
